Welcome to JNV Hondarabalu, Chamaraja Nagar

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are exclusive educational institutions in India, imparting quality education to students mainly from rural background. This system, unlike others, aims at producing future citizens, with a sound moral character and updated knowledge for the service of the society in a global learning environment. Almost all the states of India except Tamil Nadu are having Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas running to a national total of 593 vidyalayas as on date. The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are financed by the Central Government under the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Department of School Education and Literacy and functions under Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. The Samiti has eight Regional Offices for administration of Vidyalayas under their respective regions. These offices are located at places in different States. For each Vidyalaya, there is a Vidyalaya Advisory Committee and a Vidyalaya Management Committee for the general supervision of the Vidyalaya. District Magistrate of the concerned district is the Chairman of the Vidyalaya level Committees with local educationists, public representatives and officials from the District as members. The Samiti’s headquarters is presently located at B-15, Sector-62, Noida, Utter Pradesh.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Chamrajnagar, Karnataka is situated on a picturesque landscape in the valley of the hilly abode of the benevolent deity, Beligiri Ranga at a village called ‘Hondarabalu’ at a distance of 18 Kms from the District Head Quarters. This vidyalaya was established in the year 1988 as the pace setting institution of undivided Mysore District of the state Karnataka and has successfully completed a glorious and fruitful progress of 25 years. After the completion of a quarter of a century, this institution has a lot to be proud of. This is the alma mater that moulded many young minds into future policy makers and builders of this nation; whose talent would have been otherwise left unearthed in rural haplessness. Everybody who is remotely associated with this institution is brimming with rightful contentment to see the army of enthusiastic young men and women who came out of this school to serve the society.
